On June 24th 2022, you are invited down the rabbit hole with The Queen’s College.

Expect a white-tie evening that progresses through the pristine college grounds – before spiralling into a trippy and psychedelic night-time event.

“Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop.”

1,000+ Guests

Event &

The Queen’s College Commemoration Ball promises to be visually spectacular, with decorations to match the decadence of the food and drinks on offer. As one of the largest balls in the Oxford calendar with over 1,000 guests, this won’t be a night to miss.

This year, you can expect to topple beneath the neoclassical surfaces of the buildings and into the vibrant and disorientating underbelly of the college.

“Down, down, down. Would the fall never come to an end?”

The fall is packed with stages, performers, rave tents, shisha, artisan food trucks, mirror mazes and more – all twisted to meet a bar of bonkers for our guests while they’re not up on their feet dancing. The event ends at dawn if you can hack it for survivor’s breakfast.

“At least, I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then…”

Down the Rabbit Hole

Alice in Wonderland

The 2022 ball theme is “Down the Rabbit Hole”, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”. Our quads and gardens will be spectacularly transformed, and every aspect from entertainment to food and drink will bring the vision to life.

The evening will begin with the Mad Hatter’s tea party and transcend into a trippy wonderland by night…

“When I used to read fairy-tales, I fancied that kind of thing never happened, and now here I am in the middle of one!”

Food & Drinks

A ticket entitles guests to complimentary food and drink all evening, provided by some of the best local businesses.

Guests can expect canapés and champagne on arrival, followed by a selection of artisan food stalls and bars as they progress throughout the college grounds. A variety of tea party treats will also be on offer throughout the evening.

“nevertheless she uncorked it and put it to her lips. “I know something interesting is sure to happen,” she said to herself”

Entertainment  & Music

Throughout the evening, there will be performances across our various stages by musical acts and DJs, in addition to a rave tent. In the past, The Queen’s College Ball has featured performances by popular artists and groups such as Jimothy Lacoste and Everything Everything, as well as local student talent.

Non-musical entertainment will also be provided throughout college, including performers and a shisha bar.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn’t.”
